Viva La Travel Wrap

Las Vegas

Having been working diligently for W+W for less than a year, I hadn’t yet had the opportunity to actually travel with my First Class Travel Wrap until this past week. I put my black cashmere wrap to the ultimate test in 3 cities- from NYC office to San Francisco business trip to Vegas wedding. I already know it’s a great item, but I was still amazed at how perfectly it stood up to the task.

Starting off on a cold day in New York, the big swath of supersoft cashmere stood in for a coat on 3 subways and the Airtrain to get to the airport. Having resolved to wear the absolute most comfortable plane outfit, my wrap topped off a Skimmer Tank Dress worn with cropped leggings and Sleek Adidas sneakers. Of course it was wonderful on the chilly plane, but that was a given- though I hadn’t realized that it’s actually big enough to work as a blanket and a pillow at once. The wrap was the perfect outer layer on a crisp day in San Francisco. Skinny black J Brands and a belted white Beau Cardi with the new Phillip Lim for Tatami sandals (thankfully it was just warm enough) for casual business meeting. As the fog rolled in and the air itself seemed to coalesce into drizzly mist, I didn’t have to worry about it getting damp (since it’s a naturally fast-drying fiber that doesn’t mind water).

On to Vegas, where a wrap was utterly necessary in casino cir-conditioning. Since I was there for a wedding, the wrap was perfect as a shawl with my vintage strapless ombre silk dress and Chloe black patent sandals (with black opaques of course).

By the time I was on the plane back to NY, the wrap was like an old friend and trusty traveling companion. Now it’s taken up residence at my desk to combat the office air chill.
