Blogger Series: Part 4

W+W: What was your favorite piece from the White + Warren spring collection?
JULIA: The sumptuous Cashmere Travel Wrap! That gargantuan blanket is hands-down the ultimate snuggly essential for planes, trains and automobiles; plus with a quick rejig, the cozy wrap easily transforms into an elegant shawl for daytime or evening.W+W: What’s the story behind your Bunny Bisous moniker?
JULIA: It’s just an old nickname from around the time when I worked very closely with Paper Magazine, prior to starting a personal website.W+W: You’re sort of a fashion jack of all trades– modeling, styling, writing, etc. Do you have a favorite way to express yourself?
JULIA: Writing has been my lifelong pursuit and passion, probably stemming from my love of reading and the influence of my late grandfather, Dr. James R. Frakes (of The New York Times Book Review and Lehigh University). I honestly sort of fell into modeling—as it was not an ambition that I had actively pursued—but it has quickly become my dream as well.W+W: What spot in NYC inspires you most?
JULIA: The Neue Galerie, the handball courts at First Park (the triangular playground/park on East 1st Street between Houston and 1st Avenue), Opening Ceremony.

W+W: Do you have a signature accessory for spring?
JULIA: Yes, a custom Lulu Frost locket filled with little mementos and old photographs that my mom gave to me for my 21st birthday. It means the world to me.

W+W: 3 most played songs on your iPod right now:
JULIA: Flying Overseas (feat. Devonte Hynes & Solange Knowles) by Theophilus London
Candy by Foxy Brown
Fashion Party (with Chairlift) by Das Racist

W+W: Any spring ’11 trends you loved most from the runways?
JULIA: The plethora of prints! I was especially jazzed by the vibrant, spirited spring textile prints churned out by Cédric Charlier at Cacharel, Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, Guillaume Henry at Carven, Gareth Pugh, Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty at Suno, Erdem (Moralioglu), Mary Katrantzou, (Angela) Missoni, Marco Zanini at Rochas, (Miuccia) Prada and Stella McCartney. Of those collections, I was particularly enchanted by Marco Zanini’s deeply personal Rochas showing—especially the pieces featuring Slotts Barbro’s reimagined Scandinavian folk art—and how it at once recalled a definite Swedish flora and foliage motif (of Marco’s heritage) along with the very French sayings of Françoise Sagan (to commemorate the Parisian house).
